ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING

April 17, 2012

CALL TO ORDER:  The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Chuck Lopas.  There were 14 members present.  The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited by all present.

MINUTES:  The Minutes of the March, 2012 Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and accepted as read.

TREASURERS REPORT:  The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer.  It was moved, seconded and passed to accept the report.

CORRESPONDENCE:  A letter from the FAA regarding transport of firearms was received.  Announcements concerning two Vintage Military Rifle Matches to be held this summer at the Rifle Sportsmen’s Club were circulated.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  The 4H program on March 24 had parents and participants shooting air rifles.  The Battle Rifle Match had 25 shooters and $75 was turned in to the Club.  The April High Power match had 5 shooters and $15 was turned in.

OLD BUSINESS:  Periodically during the remainder of the meeting members present were able to submit sealed bids for various shooting accessories returned to the Club by the Grand valley Marksmen.  Members present were also given the chance to purchase opportunities to win a rifle, ammunition and dies donated to the Club.  The person given permission to have a fun shoot for his guests has still not finalized his Club Membership but it is pending. Our request for a grant from the DOW for remodeling the club house has been approved for $4,000.  The OMGC will need to match that grant with at least $5,000 worth of material, labor or money.  The head of Hunter Education in Colorado will be visiting the range in early June. The Club has a Dunn and Bradstreet number to coordinate the receipt of federal money thru the DOW grant. Proposed bylaws changes concerning due process for suspension of membership privileges for serious range rule violations and annual audit dates were discussed.  These changes will require a vote by a quorum of the membership to take effect. The Club’s web site has been updated.  All members are encouraged to sign up for access to the member’s only part of the site as future newsletters and lock combinations will be posted there. The 4H fun shoot plan was presented and is attached to and made a part of these minutes.  There are now several Club members expressing willingness to serve as Vice president.  They will be reviewed by the Board of Directors and a selection made.

NEW BUSINESS:  The Club has filed our form 990-N electronic notice concerning our tax exempt status as required.  A copy of the Notice is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the members it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:17 PM by the President.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeff Howard

Secretary
