ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
January 21, 2014
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard. There were 15 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the December, 2013 meeting were read by the secretary and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer, and it was moved, seconded and passed to accept the report.
CORESPONDENCE: None.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The 2013 Annual Audit Committee report was presented by Allan Chicon. Questions were answered, and a copy of the report is attached to and made a part of these minutes. A letter from Dave Andrews, President of the Grand Valley Marksmen Junior Club concerning match sights belonging to the Club and used by the juniors is attached to and made a part of these minutes. A general discussion on what to do with the rifles returned to the Club by Grand Valley Marksmen was held. The major options seemed to be donation to the 4H shooters, selling them either to Club members or outside the Club, and using them for Hunter Education. Possibly a combination of these suggestions could be done.
OLD BUSINESS: The 2014 calendars are complete. We are still waiting for better weather to put down the gravel on our roads.
NEW BUSINESS: A discussion was held about changing the Club’s web site to a public one only. This would eliminate the hassle of getting access to the member only part of the site. It would mean we couldn’t post the gate combination on the web site, however. Savage will do a public rifle demonstration in September. There is the need for a volunteer to coordinate the public sight ins in September. A plan to increase member participation in club functions by having drawings for those who do participate, and awarding gift cards to the winner. In view of the pending increase in first class postage it was moved, seconded and passed to purchase up to $400 in forever stamps for Club use.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 8:23 PM by the President.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Howard Secretary
