ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING

March 18, 2014

 

CALL TO ORDER:  The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the Vice President, Jon Kobylarz.  There were 8 members present.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

MINUTES:  The Minutes of the February Members Meeting were read by the Secretary, and approved as read.

TREASURERS REPORT:  The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer.  It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the report.  A copy of this report is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

CORESPONDENCE:  A flyer was received announcing a new shooting business called Basalt Firearms LLC.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  The  Schutzen group had 6 shooters and $18.00 was turned in to the Club.

OLD BUSINESS:  Eight loads of gravel, costing $1,564 were spread by the delivery truck and members of the Club.  Additional spreading was done by club members during the work day.  There were 16 members participating in the work day and all are eligible for the first gift card drawing.  After discussion the members favored a quarterly drawing for attendance at members meetings, and a drawing for each work day. The Board of directors will finalize this.  A list of the members attending the work day is attached to and made a part of these minutes. Weed killer will be applied to the range in late March or early April when weather permits.  Jerry Bush will get the chemicals and will apply them.  Liability coverage for the Appleseed Project has been received.  We still do not have proof of liability coverage from Grand Valley Training.  Tom Mathews will contact them.

NEW BUSINESS:  Art Bennett will put together a draft of a temporary range access form to be mailed to new members acknowledging receipt of their membership application, and welcoming them to the Club.  There was discussion on automating the process of joining the Club.  There is need for additional gravel to finish the road to the south ranges and elsewhere.  It was moved, seconded and passed to purchase and spread up to 5 more loads of gravel to finish the job.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the members it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:29 PM by the Vice President.
