April 15, 2014

CALL TO ORDER:  The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard.  There were 16 members present.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

MINUTES:  The Minutes of the March, 2014 Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.

TREASURERS REPORT:  The Treasurer gave the report.  It was moved, seconded and passed to accept the report.  A copy is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

CORESPONDENCE:  The Appleseed project will have shoots at the Club on April19 and April25.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  Schutzen had 6 shooters at their April match and $18.00 was turned in.  The Battle Rifle Match had 27 shooters, and $81.00 will be turned in to the Club.

OLD BUSINESS:  A general discussion about the Club being able to accept on line payment for membership, and renewal was held.  One member volunteered to further explore this issue and what would be required and the cost.  Five additional loads of gravel have been delivered and spread at the range.  Chuck Lopas who has coordinated this project feels we need three more loads to finish the job.  It was moved, seconded and passed to purchase three more loads and spread them.  The Club now has proof of liability insurance from Savage Arms, The Appleseed Project, and Grand Valley Training Club.  Copies are attached to and made a part of these minutes.  The news letter announcing the lock combination change was sent out and none were returned.  The Club has been notified of the acceptance of the Form990-N E-filing of our tax exempt status.  A copy of this acceptance is attached to and made a part of these minutes.  The fee to the Colorado Department of Local Affairs and the report has also been sent.

NEW BUSINESS:  The roof on the target sheds is in poor shape, and needs replacement.  It is estimated to cost approximately $2,000.  Additional shelving is also needed inside the larger target shed on the south side.  Following discussion it was moved, seconded and passed to purchase shelving for the target shed up to a total cost of $150.  The Pro Second Amendment is requesting the Club pay for a maximum of three adult and three junior NRA memberships as prizes for their essay contest.  This has been agreed to in the past but we were never notified who to purchase the memberships for.  A general discussion was held concerning the trap range for the 4H shooters and club members as well.  What type of thrower and how it should be mounted were discussed.  The possibility of securing grant money was mentioned.  The first drawing for a $50 gift card for participants at the March work day was held and Tom Burrows was the winner.  He will be notified and his gift card mailed to him.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the members, it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:01 PM by the President

Respectfully submitted,

Jeff Howard
