TREASURERS REPORT: The May Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the report. A copy is attached to and made a part of these minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: A letter from Grand Valley Marksmen to the Club thanking us for our support in the past and proposing how to manage the return of rimfire target rifles owned by the Club to the OMGC. A letter from A.U.S. Brass Company soliciting interest in buying our range brass and offering to sell brass was received. These letters are attached to and made a part of these minutes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Schutzen Regional Match had 12 shooters, and $36.00 was turned in to the Club. There were 4 shooters at the High Power match and $12.00 was turned in. The 4H Mesa County Invitational shoot had 28 junior shooters.
OLD BUSINESS: Proposed changes to the Application for Membership both on the Club’s web site and the hard copy were presented. Changes were made to prevent potential misunderstandings. The new forms will be printed, and the web site changed to provide the new form for downloading. A copy of the new form is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The names of the winners of the essay contest by the Pro Second Amendment Committee have been received. NRA annual memberships and Junior Memberships will be provided to these winners. The Club’s purchasing of a used lawnmower, preferably self propelled to keep the ranges mowed was discussed. One potential mower was felt to be over priced. There are several used mowers for sale at a second hand store in Clifton on US 6. Jeff Howard will check on these and report at the July meeting.
NEW BUSINESS: The OMGC target rifles that are being returned to the Club by the Grand Valley Marksmen were discussed at length. There is not any additional storage space for these rifles. Chuck Lopas offered to store these rifles in his gun room at his home. Allan Chicon and Jeff Howard will transfer these rifles from their current location to Chuck’s gun room. The rifles will have their value determined, and interested members may purchase them first, any not sold to members will be sold to other buyers. The Grand Valley Marksmen are interested in purchasing one of the rifles. The Grand Valley Training Club has requested the use of the South Pits at a time that conflicts with the 4h County Fair’s use of the range. Eric Kjeldgaard will follow up with GVTC to resolve this. The winner of the drawing for a $50.00 gift card from those who participated in the May Work Day was won by Eric Kjeldgaard.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members, it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 PM by the President.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Howard Secretary
