ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
September 16, 2014
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the Vice President, Jon Kobylarz. There were 11 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the August, 2014 Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The August, 2014 Treasurers Report was presented by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve the Report. A copy of the report is attached to and made a part of these minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: A letter from member Francis Daley expressing appreciation for the many improvements to the range and a check for $150.00 was received. It was moved, seconded and passed to apply $50.00 of the money for his next yearly membership renewal.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Schutzen had five shooters and $15.00 was turned in. High Power had 6 shooters and $18.00 was turned in. Attendance at the Public Sight In Days and the Savage Arms presentation was very poor. Members present had nothing to do. It was felt there was very little public notice of these events. There was discussion about how to improve attendance. A Committee of Tom Mathews, Art Bennett, and Allan Chicon was formed to work on this issue.
OLD BUSINESS: The lawn mower was purchased along with a 2 gallon gas can and is stored in the south target shed. Hank Mlinarich is working on getting values for the target rifles recently returned to the Club by the Grand Valley Marksmen. These prices need to be communicated to the Montrose Rod and Gun Club, as their Junior Club may be interested in purchasing some of these rifles. The prices and the type of rifles also will be placed on the Club’s web site. The price for Pay Pal to handle membership renewals and new memberships will be more than the $0.30 originally reported. There was discussion regarding the possibility of land on our southwest border being acquired in the future and what would the Club do with it.
NEW BUSINESS: The developer of Springfield Estates on our north and west border has requested a zoning change for some of the lots to Limited Industrial. Planed work on the September 20 work day includes painting bleachers, weed control, target shed roof repairs, emptying trash barrels, and repainting the red safety line on the north range. The next Appleseed Project event may have fewer in attendance than past events.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 8:37 PM buy the Vice President.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Howard, Secretary
