ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING

April 21, 2015

CALL TO ORDER:  The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard.  There were 11 members present.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

MINUTES:  The Minutes of the March Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.

TREASURERS REPORT:  The Treasurer gave his report.  It was moved, seconded, and passed to approve the Report.  A copy of the Report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.

CORRESPONDENCE:  Information was received from the Trinidad State Junior College Gunsmithing School regarding programs they are offering this year.  The letter is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  The Axis vs Allies Battle Rifle Match had 26 shooters and $78.00 was turned in.  The April High Power Match had 8 shooters and $24.00 was turned in.  The Schutzen Match had 3 shooters and $9.00 was turned in.

OLD BUSINESS:  Requests for bids for the replacement of the target shed roof have not been received.  There followed a lengthy discussion regarding replacing just the roof or replacing the entire building.  Also discussed was the possibility of additional storage space and a possible indoor shooting range.  Additional information on the Web Page regarding payment with PayPal is still being implemented.  The long term weed killer was applied to the area north of the parking lot and the walk ways to the 100 yard firing line on the North Range.  The cost to the Club was $395.00.

NEW BUSINESS:  There are new 1.5 inch thick steel targets for placement at the range.  We plan to mount them at the May 23rd work day.  The Pro Second Amendment Committee has asked the OMGC to donate 3 NRA Junior or Regular memberships to winners of their essay contest.  It was moved, seconded and passed to do this.  Tom Mathews, Chairman of the Board of Directors reported the Club has paid the Filing Fee for our 3 parcels in lieu of property taxes of $225.00, significantly less than we would have paid if we didn’t have tax exemption.  Also Tom submitted form 990-N to the IRS regarding our tax exempt status.  Documentation of these two activities are attached to and made a part of these Minutes.  The drawing for the $50.00 gift card for the first quarter was held and Patricia Weber was the winner.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before the members it was moved, seconded and passed to adjourn.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:32 PM by the President.
