ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
January 17, 2017
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard. There were 14 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the December, 2016 Members Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The December 31, 2016 Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded and passed to accept the Report. A copy of this Report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: The Club received a 2017 calendar from The Wounded Warrior Project. The 2017 NRA 100% certificate was also received. A request to use the Club's range to test rifles was received from Red Hawk Rifles, a local manufacturer of custom rifles. Several employees of this company are already Club members.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Audit Committee will meet soon. The Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors was held January 10, 2017. The 2017 Club Calendar was finalized and is available on the Club's web site, or at Club Meetings. Plans for 2017 include improvements to the existing roads with additional gravel, aggressive weed control efforts, and the replacement of the existing target shed . The location, size and cost of the new shed will be determined at a future BOD meeting. Motions to approve the spending of up to $1,000.00 for gravel and $700.00 for weed control were made, seconded and passed. In honor of his long history of service to and membership in the Club the covered north firing line will be dedicated to Russ Weber. Suitable signage will be placed on the line. The Club will acquire a propane grill to be used by Club members at the range during events. It is hoped this may increase the use of the range by groups of members in the future. The Club will acquire a laptop computer, printer and suitable software and the Club's records and data bases will be migrated to this system so in the future the succeeding Secretaries will take over the use of this system and moving data from personal computers will not be necessary.
OLD BUSINESS: The proposal waving renewal fees for Club Officers and the BOD proposed by Allen Chicon was discussed at the recent BOD meeting and Allan was ask to make some revisions to his proposal. A copy of his revised proposal is attached to and made a part of these Minutes. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve this proposal.
NEW BUSINESS: Club member Bruce Berglund offered to request that Cabela's donate a gas grill to the Club. The property to the southwest of ours has continued to be a source of blown trash and now there is a large amount of dry wood stacked next to our property. This represents a fire hazard to our property. The Secretary will create a letter dealing with this issue for review and approval by the BOD, for possible further action.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members the Meeting was adjourned at 8:23 PM by the President.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Howard, Secretary
