ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
March 20, 2018
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard. There were 11 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the February 2018 Meeting were read by the Secretary and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: The Treasurers Report was given by the Treasurer. It was moved, seconded, and passed to approve the Report. A copy is attached to and made a part of these Minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: The Club has secured a Burn Permit from Mesa County good for the entire year. Tom Mathews has corresponded with our insurance carrier, Lockton Affinity, regarding our insurance and we will be getting a refund on our premium due to a smaller number of members in the Club than first quoted to the Company. Art Bennett has a list of companies that have severed ties with the NRA. It will be posted on the Club’s web site.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: None.
OLD BUSINESS: The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Heritage Day on April 28th in Palisade River Bend Park will need volunteers for the BB gun both sponsored by the Club. We may also need more BB guns. The 4H air rifle system will be used. It was moved, seconded and passed to donate $100.00 to the town of Palisade for this event. There was extended discussion regarding the trash situation to the west of the South Pits. The Mesa County Code Enforcement Department will be recommending to the County Commission an enforcement action. It might be valuable to the Club’s interest in this matter to attend that meeting. The Club’s web site is back up.
NEW BUSINESS: Work needed on the March 24th work day includes moving some fence, weed burning, replacing shingles on the North Range outhouse, moving things from the old shed to the new one, and deciding where to have weed killer applied on the ranges. There was discussion about the various Concealed Cary Classes offered in the Community.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members the meeting was adjourned at 8:16 PM by the President.
