ORCHARD MESA GUN CLUB MEMBERS MEETING
January 19, 2021
CALL TO ORDER: The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by the President, Eric Kjeldgaard. There were 9 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the most recent Meeting, October 2020 were read by the Secretary and approved as read.
TREASURERS REPORT: Since the last Members Meeting was in October of 2020 the Treasurer submitted reports for October, November, and December of 2020. He read the December 2020 Treasurers Report. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve all three Months Reports. Copies of these three Reports are attached to and made a part of these Minutes.
CORESPONDENCE: The Club received the 2021 100% NRA certificate, and it was posted on the bulletin board.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Nominating Committee submitted the report on candidates for 2021 Club Officers. The current officers have agreed to serve another year. The report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes. The Schutzen Committee held matches in September 2020 with 5 shooters and $15.00 was turned into the Club, and October 2020 with 4 shooters and $12.00 was turned in.
OLD BUSINESS: The annual e-file with the Colorado Secretary of State was done by Tom Mathews, Chairman of the Board of Directors. A copy of the filing is attached to and made a part of these Minutes. Pat Weber has generously offered the use of her tractor and mower to the Club. It was moved, seconded and passed to pay Pat $40.00 per hour plus fuel, as rental for the Club’s use of the tractor. The floor was opened for nominations for any Club Officer position. None were forthcoming and the slate of current officers was elected for 2021 by acclamation. It is planned to sow the buffalo grass seed this coming weekend weather permitting.
NEW BUSINESS: At the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors, Vernon Bakker was selected to fill the vacancy for a member at large, due to the passing of Lee Boren. The Board recommended a donation of $250.00 in Lee’s name to an organization to be determined by his family. This motion was moved, seconded and passed. Tom Mathews will work with the family to accomplish this. The 2021 Workdays will be March 20, April 24, June 12, and September 18. Simmons Lock and Key fixed the touch pad lock on the door of the Target Shed. The Board raised the Initiation Fee for new members joining the Club from $55.00 to $65.00 to cover the increased cost of mailing material to the new member, effective March 1, 2021.The 4H shooting director, Christina Teal, has requested the expansion of the Archery Range by 2 shooting lanes and a distance of 50 yards. The club will also get gravel for the 4H Club to spread if they want and do some leveling of the area. It was moved, seconded and passed to approve this. The Public Sight In Day will be October 2, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Eric Kjeldgaard will coordinate this. Jeff Howard gave an update on COVID-19 in Mesa County.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the members the Meeting was adjourned at 8:20PM by the President.
